BELGRADE (Serbia), June 17 (SeeNews) – Italian wiring harnesses producer Selettra has opened a factory in Sabac, northern Serbia, the city government said.

Selettra invested 150,000 euro ($168,200) in the factory which currently has 10 employees, the local government said in a statement on Friday.

The Italian company intends to increase the number of employees to 30 by the end of this year and to 100 by the end of 2020.

"Last year we started researching this region and discovered the excellent cooperation between Italy and Serbia, which is certainly a result of the work of the embassy of Italy in Serbia. In cooperation with Confindustria Serbia, we have connected, and now you see the results," Selettra general manager, Luca Antognozzi, said at the opening ceremony.

The factory in Sabac will be operated by Selettra WB doo, a fully-owned Serbian subsidiary of Selettra.
