September 7 (SeeNews) - Investments in Serbia's telecommunications sector decreased by 4.9% year-on-year to 32.3 billion dinars ($322.3 million/270 million euro) in 2016, the country's Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (Ratel) said.
Most of the investments were channeled into the mobile telephony and media content distribution segments, 11.1 billion dinars and 8.7 billion dinars, respectively, Ratel said in a statement on Wednesday.
The total income generated in the telecommunications market of Serbia in 2016 increased to 189.4 billion dinars, up 1% year-on-year, representing 4.51% of Serbia's gross domestic product (GDP), Ratel said.

As a result, at the end of 2016, there were 58 Internet subscribers and 67 subscribers of media content distribution per 100 households.
During 2016, Serbia's postal market generated a total income of 16.8 billion dinars, an increase of 4.7%, Ratel said.
