December 19 (SeeNews) - Total investment in Croatia's tourism sector is expected to increase to 950 milion euro next year, from some 800 million euro ($944.6 million) in 2017, prime minister Andrej Plenkovic has said.
"Next year I expect the Croatian tourist trade to achieve even better results and ensure the continuation of investments," Plenkovic said in a statement posted on the government website on Tuesday.
Croatia has registered a record high 101 million overnight stays this year and their number is expected to increase next year, he added.
According to the World Travel&Tourism Council, Croatia's tourism and travel industry contributed 10.7% of the country's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2016.
