June 16 (SeeNews) - The websites of Swiss-based sporting goods retail chain Intersport in Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro were subject to a credit card skimming attack, it said on Tuesday.
"There was no misuse of credit card data, as payment card data is processed exclusively by provider Wspay, which delivers all the necessary security mechanisms for online payment transactions," Intersport said in a statement.
The skimmer attack involved the installation of malicious code to scan credit card data, which was removed by Intersport without any data leaks, the company said.
Intersport added that it is examining the possibility of additional preventive measures in cooperation with Slovenia-based web store maintenance partner Optiweb.
