October 6 (SeeNews) - The inaugural session of the 9th Croatian parliament will be held on October 14, starting at 3 pm CET, the office of the country's president Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic announced on Thursday .
The decision to hold the session on that day was made in accordance with the constitution and the election law, the president's office said in a statement.
Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic is expected to hold the second round of consultations with political parties on forming a new government on Monday, October 10.
During the first round of talks, held last month, the president said that she won't be appointing a mandate holder yet, as none of the political parties had secured majority in the 151-seat parliament.
During the September 11 snap vote, the conservative Croatian Democratic Union, HDZ, won 61 seats in parliament and is expected to lead the country's next government. The most likely scenario is for HDZ to establish a coalition with its current junior partner MOST, which has 13 seats.
