October 12 (SeeNews) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Tuesday that it expects Bulgaria's gross domestic product (GDP) to expand by 4.5% in 2021, slightly revising its April 2021 forecast for 4.4% growth.
Bulgaria's economic growth is then expected to ease to 4.4% in 2022, the IMF said in its latest World Economic Outlook (WEO) report.
Consumer price inflation is seen picking up from 1.2% in 2020 to 2.1% this year, before dropping to 1.9% in 2022, the report showed.
Bulgaria's unemployment rate is forecast to remain unchanged compared to last year, at 5.2%, before declining to 4.7% next year.
Bulgaria is expected to have a current account balance of 0.5% of GDP in 2021 and 0.3% of GDP in 2022, according to the IMF.
