October 13 (SeeNews) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said it expects the gross domestic product (GDP) of Bosnia and Herzegovina to expand by 2.8% this year, revising downwards its October projection of 3.5% economic growth.
In 2022, Bosnia's economy is expected to grow by 3.2%, the IMF said in the October edition of its World Economic Outlook report published on Tuesday.
The IMF projects a 3% economic growth for the country in 2026.
The average consumer price inflation in Bosnia is forecast at 1.8% in each of 2021 and 2022, compared with 1.1% deflation in 2020.
Bosnia's current account deficit is expected to rise to 3.9% of GDP this year, compared with 3.2% in 2020, the IMF said. The current account gap will further narrow to 3.5% of GDP next year.
Bosnia and Herzegovina's GDP contracted by 4.3% year-on-year in 2020.
