October 11 (SeeNews) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said it expects Albania's economy to expand by 3.7% this year, confirming its April projection in the latest edition of the World Economic Outlook (WEO) report.
Albania's GDP growth is expected to remain at 3.7% in 2018, down from previously projected 4.1%, the global lender said in its October WEO report, published late on Tuesday.
The country's economic growth, which reached 3.4% last year, is seen at 4.0% in 2022.
According to the IMF, Albania's annual average consumer price inflation will accelerate to 2.3% in 2017 and 3% in 2018 from 2.2% in 2016.
Albania's 2017 current account deficit is projected to expand to 9.2% of GDP from 7.6% in 2016. In 2018, the shortfall is expected to shrink to 8.2% and decline further to 6.2% of GDP in 2022, the IMF said.
