October 9 (SeeNews) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expects Serbia’s economy to expand by a real 4.0% in 2018, up from a growth rate of 3.5% projected in April, the fund said on Tuesday.
Serbia's gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to grow 3.5% in 2019, the IMF said in its October 2018 World Economic Outlook report.
According to the IMF, Serbia saw economic growth of 1.9% in 2017.
Serbia's consumer price inflation is seen at 2.1% in 2018 and 2.3% in 2019, according to the October WEO report.
Unemployment is projected to fall to 13.8% at end-2018 from 14.1% in 2017, before declining further to 13.5% in 2019.
Serbia’s current account balance calculated as percentage of GDP is projected at a negative 5.7% in 2018 and negative 5.6% in 2019.
