PRISTINA (Kosovo), April 18 (SeeNews) – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said it expects Kosovo’s economy to expand by a real 4% in 2018, up from 3.5% growth it projected in October 2017.
Kosovo's gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to grow by 4% in 2019 and 2023 each, the IMF said in its April 2018 World Economic Outlook report published on Tuesday.
Kosovo's economy expanded by an estimated 4.1% in 2017, according to the report.
The Fund expects Kosovo's annual average consumer price inflation to slow to 1% in 2018, from 1.5% in 2017. The average inflation is seen at 1.9% in 2019 and 2.2% in 2023.
Kosovo's current account deficit is projected to rise to 8.9% of GDP in 2018, from 8.7% in 2017, the IMF said. The current account deficit is forecast at 8.6% and 7.7% of GDP in 2019, 2013, respectively.
