April 20 (SeeNews) - Slovenia’s economy is expected to expand by a real 3.7% in 2022, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said, lowering its forecast for a 4.6% increase made in October.
Slovenia's gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to grow by 3.0% in 2023, the IMF said in the April 2022 edition of its World Economic Outlook report published on Tuesday.
In 2021, the country's economy expanded by 8.1%, the IMF said.
The Fund expects an average consumer price inflation of 6.7% in Slovenia in 2022, accelerating from 1.9% last year. The average inflation is seen at 5.1% in 2023.
Slovenia is expected to turn to a current account deficit of 0.5% of GDP this year from a 3.3% surplus in 2021, while in 2023 the current account gap is estimated at 1.4%, according to the report.
The unemployment rate is expected to fall to 4.5% in both 2022 and 2023 from 4.7% last year.
