BUCHAREST (Romania), September 23 (SeeNews) – Switzerland-based home improvement products distributor IKEA Supply will open a regional centre in Romania's CTPark Bucharest West industrial park by mid-2021, Danish integrated shipping company Maersk said on Wednesday.
The 75,000 sqm regional distribution centre will be completed by end of 2020 and is expected to become operational by mid-2021, Maersk, which will provide logistics services to the centre alongside Romanian company IB Cargo, said in a press release.
The facility be the largest warehouse in Romania and will be used by IKEA Supply as its distribution centre for inbound and outbound operations for stores in Southeast Europe and Eastern Mediterranean regions.
Maersk is a Danish integrated container logistics company which operates in 130 countries and employs some 76,000.
Based in Switzerland, IKEA Supply A.G. is responsible for supplying products of Swedish furniture retailer IKEA to IKEA franchises.
IKEA operates two stores in Romania, both in capital Bucharest.
