December 18 (SeeNews) - The Romanian unit of U.S. information technologies (IT) company IBM said on Tuesday it opened a global delivery centre in Bucharest to offer IT maintenance and application development services to business clients.
"The opening of a global delivery centre in Bucharest is materialising IBM's efforts to take advantage of the opportunities offered by emerging markets like Romania", IBM Romania Country General Manager Mihai Tudor said in a statement.
Talented labour force and favourable business policies qualify Romania as an ideal spot for IBM to offer its services to the company's clients, he said.
"The investment in the global delivery centre in Romania is an essential part of IBM's strategy to become a global integrated business," Global Delivery Centre Eastern Europe Vice President Michael Dietz said in the same statement.
"Working abroad allows us to identify the best talents in the world in order to put into practice innovation and to help global clients," Dietz added.
