May 9 (SeeNews) - Hungarian oil and gas company MOL has recorded sales worth 108.2 million Hungarian forints ($296.7 million/282.2 million euro) in Slovenia in 2021, up 60% on an annual basis, the company said.
MOL agreed to acquire a 92.25% stake in Slovenia's second largest fuel retailer OMV Slovenija from Austrian oil, gas and chemicals group OMV last year for 301 million euro, the Hungarian company said in an annual report posted on its website.
The transaction includes 120 service stations across Slovenia and is subject to merger clearance, MOL said.
In the third quarter of 2020, MOL was notified by Slovenian competition authority that it had opened a formal investigation related to potentially anti-competitive practices regarding LPG sales in Slovenia. The investigation carried into 2021 and is currently ongoing.
