March 21 (SeeNews) - Croatia's biggest telecoms operator, Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT-R-A], said on Friday it has been cleared by the country's central bank to provide electronic and mobile wallet services.
Hrvatski Telekom said in a bourse filing the scope of its business activities needs to be amended accordingly following the central bank nod given earlier this month.
A general shareholders meeting scheduled for April 29 will vote to add to the company's articles of association "services for execution of payment transactions in which the financial assets are covered by the credit line for the end users of payment services - execution of payment transactions by means of payment cards or other similar means."
In 2011, the central bank cleared Hrvatski Telekom to provide mobile payments for parking and public transport.
