November 5 (SeeNews) - Honda Turkey, the local unit of Japanese carmaker Honda, considers launching the production of another car model at its factory to utilize the capacity of the plant, local media reported citing Honda Turkey's CEO Hideto Yamasaki.
Honda Turkey is producing 15,000 units of the new generation Civic Sedan car per year at its factory in Sekerpinar, northern Turkey, which has annual output capacity of 50,000 units, Yamasaki said, quoted by daily Milliyet on Monday.
The company is considering all options, including a B segment car, to add a new model to utilize the remaining production capacity at the plant, Yamasaki told reporters during a recent launch event for the company's new CR-V car model, according to Milliyet.
