February 14 (SeeNews) - China's Hisense Europe has launched a 2 million euro ($2.15 million) global research and development (R&D) centre for household, kitchen and premium appliances in Slovenia's Velenje, Hisense Europe said.
The development of technology and devices will take place in Velenje, regardless of where the individual devices will be produced and which market they are intended for, Hisense Europe said in a statement on Sunday.
Hisense Europe will allocate about 45 million euro in R&D activities this year, or almost 20% more than in 2022, the company said.
"At Hisense Europe, we are steadily increasing our investments in R&D, in technology, education and recruiting the best talent, because to achieve our goals we need competent, innovative and motivated employees. With the Innovation Center, we provide them with a modern and stimulating work environment where they can develop their potential and thus even better, more successful products and services," Hisense Europe CEO Hanson Han.
The launch of the R&D centre is part of a larger project of investments in household appliances, which will last until November 2024 and will involve an investment of around 39 million euro.
