July 1 (SeeNews) - Lender Hipotekarna Banka [MNG:HIPB] led the blue-chip gainers on the Montenegrin stock exchange in June, as stock indices ended up, bourse data indicated.
The blue-chip index of the Montenegro Stock Exchange, MNSE10, closed up 1.69% in June at 806.57 points.
The benchmark MONEX index, which tracks the 20 most representative shares on the Montenegro Stock Exchange, went up 2.24% in June and closed at 11,098.25 points.
A total of 378,054 Hipotekarna Banka shares changed hands in turnover of 2.8 million euro in May. Hipotekarna Banka won 15.1% to 7.44 euro.
Montenegro's state-owned power utility EPCG [MNG:EPCG] paced the blue-chip decliners in June, as its share price fell 5.1% on the month to 3.65 euro. A total of 3,084 of the company's shares changed hands, generating a turnover of 11,260 euro.
The bourse's total turnover fell in June to 3.3 million euro ($3.4 million) from 24.7 million euro a month earlier.
A total of 114 transactions were concluded on the bourse in Podgorica in June, versus 84 in May. Stock market capitalisation was 3.281 billion euro at the end of June, up from 3.265 billion euro a month earlier.
