December 15 (SeeNews) - US hospitality chain Hilton is set to increase its hotel count in Croatia's capital Zagreb to three, with plans to open two new hotels over the next two years, local media reported.
Apart from its existing Double Tree Hotel in Zagreb, Hilton will launch a Canopy by Hilton by September next year, before opening a Hilton Garden Inn late in 2019, news portal Tportal reported, quoting the director of local firm Zagreb City Hotels and the general manager for Hilton hotel's in Zagreb, Josipa Jutt Ferlan.
Zagreb City Hotels has signed management deals with Hilton for all three hotels, Ferlan said.
She noted that Hilton's Double Tree in Zagreb enjoys an average annual occupancy rate of 76%.
Canopy by Hilton will have 150 rooms, several bars, a business meeting room and other facilities. The Hilton Garden Inn will also offer 150 rooms, but will be more business orientated with a congress and banquet center which will be able to seat 400 guests.
Hilton has been represented in Croatia since 2005 with the upscale and historic Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik, a landmark property located on the Dalmatian coast.
