February 5 (SeeNews) - US hospitality chain Hilton said it has signed a management contract to open a hotel under the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand in Albania's capital Tirana.
The hotel, owned by Kastrati Residences Ltd, a subsidiary of Albanian diversified group Kastrati, is set to open towards the end of 2023, Hilton said in a statement earlier this week.
"Tirana is undergoing a transformation into a thriving metropolis, and we see great potential in this rapidly developing city. Albania saw visitor numbers increase by more than 70% between 2014 and 2019,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, Hilton.
The property will feature spa, indoor and rooftop pools and a fitness centre. It will have 174 rooms, including 18 suites.
This will be Albania's first Hilton Hotels & Resorts property. Hilton opened a hotel under its Garden Inn brand in Tirana in 2018.
