June 8 (SeeNews) - US-headquartered hotel chain Hilton Worldwide is considering opportunities to open hotels in the Bulgarian cities of Plovdiv and Varna in the next five or six years, a company official said on Thursday.
The company is also looking at the country's seaside and mountain resorts, Adela Cristea, development director Central and Eastern Europe for Hilton Worldwide, said during the Hotel & Tourism Investment Forum 2017 in Sofia.
Hilton is open to management agreements and franchise contracts in Bulgaria and the region, Cristea also said.
"The season in the country is very short. The infrastructure needs to be improved in order for the customers to be connected in a better way to the services that the area is offering," Cristea noted.
In Bulgaria, the company operates Hilton Sofia in the capital city.
