Under the first order, Siemens Gamesa will deliver five SG 5.0-145 turbines for the Doukas wind project, while three turbines of the same type will be installed at the future Koukouli wind farm as part of the other contract. Both projects are located in Greece’s Macedonia region.
Once up and running, the wind farms will be capable of generating electricity for more than 35,000 homes, while offsetting over 105,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually.
Siemens Gamesa noted that the latest deals bring it closer to a 1 GW wind power installation milestone in Greece.
