January 14 (SeeNews) - Greece's Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO) has kicked off procedures for the potential construction of a new 400 kV electricity interconnection with Albania, regional media reported.
IPTO is currently in preliminary talks with Albania's state-owned power transmission system operator OST over the potential interconnection, Balkan Green Energy News reported earlier this week, citing IPTO's latest ten-year development plan.
Albania already has two power interconnection lines with Greece, OST's website shows.
IPTO is the owner and operator of the Hellenic Electricity Transmission System (HETS).
