March 15 (SeeNews) - Greece registered the only annual rise in industrial production among EU member states in Southeast Europe (SEE) in January, of 0.6%, Eurostat said on Wednesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, industrial output in Greece went down by 1.2% in January, compared to an average EU growth of 0.3%, the European statistical office said in a monthly report.
Romania's industrial production marked the highest monthly increase in the region and third-highest in the EU, at 2%. In comparison, Bulgaria's industrial output declined the most in the region in the review month, by 3%.
At 5.4%, Romania also posted the largest annual decrease in industrial output among EU members in SEE, closely followed by Slovenia with 4.9%. Industrial production in the EU as a whole rose by 1% on the year in January.
