BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), December 12 (SeeNews) – An unnamed air carrier plans to launch a weekly flight from Sweden's Gothenburg via Bosnia's Banja Luka to Montenegro's Podgorica on December 22, the transport minister of Bosnia's Serb Republic entity, Nedjo Trninic, has said.
The frequency of the service can be increased to two flights weekly, Trninic said in a video file posted on the website of Banja Luka-based broadcaster ATV last week, without revealing the name of the air carrier.
Air Serbia is the only company that operates at Banja Luka airport. The Serbian flag carrier's five weekly flights connect Belgrade to Banja Luka, according to data from the website of Banja Luka airport.
Banja Luka airport handled 14,745 passengers in the first eight months of 2017, down 3.9% on the year.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other is the Federation.
