BELGRADE (Serbia), October 3 (SeeNews) – Google has added Serbia to the list of countries whose residents can apply for registration in its Merchant Account platform, the Serbian government said on Thursday.
In this way, IT companies based in Serbia will be able to charge their services and products available on the Google Play Store worldwide, the Serbian government said in a statement.
The inclusion of Serbia in the list of countries where the Google Merchant Account is available will back the growth of the local mobile app industry, prime minister Ana Brnabic said.
The exports of Serbia's ICT sector are expected to reach 1.5 billion euro ($1.6 billion) in 2019, she added.
The Google Merchant Account platform makes available the uploading of paid apps and in-app purchases to developers. The country of residence of developers must have come to an agreement with Google over taxes.
