June 8 (SeeNews) - Spanish on-demand delivery platform Glovo said on Wednesday it has opened its largest Southeastern Europe office in Romania's capital Bucharest.
The new office is also the company's new headquarters for the SEE region, Glovo said in a press release.
The company also announced it has named Iustinian Belghir as its new general manager in Romania.
Glovo is a Barcelona-headquartered delivery company; its interface with customers is a mobile app, which offers a wide range of consumer products. The company operates in 25 countries from Europe, Central Asia, as well as Africa.
Based on the latest data held by the finance ministry, Glovo Romania booked a 12.7 million lei ($2.7 million/2.5 million euro) net loss in 2020, preceded by a 30.8 million lei net loss in 2019. Its turnover rose to 167.6 million lei in 2020, from 32.3 million lei the previous year.
