July 11 (SeeNews) - Global business process outsourcing (BPO) provider Telus International said on Thursday it has acquired an additional 1,200 sq m office space in Bucharest in order to support its extensive local hiring plans.
Currently the company is looking to hire people fluent in a variety of languages, it said in a press release.
Following the acquisition, the company occupies an area of 10,000 sq m area in the AFI Park office campus in Bucharest.
"We believe Romania is the new outsourcing valley of Europe. With 125,000 employees working in this industry and growing, its reputation as an attractive outsourcing destination is on the rise. We want to capitalize on the impressive assets Romania offers by continuing to grow our business in 2019, attracting the best multilingual talents that the labour market can provide," TELUS International co-founder and vice-president for business development, Grégoire Vigroux said.
TELUS International moved its offices to AFI Park 3 in 2015 and expanded to AFI 4 and 5 buildings in 2017.
In January, TELUS said it plans to hire 500 by the end of June in order to support the expansion of its operations in Romania.
In August 2017, Telus acquired Romanian operations of customer services company Voxpro for an undisclosed sum.
Telus International is present in Romania since 2012 when it bought local peer CallPoint, the operator of a customer service centre in Bucharest. After Bucharest, Telus expanded in the southern city of Craiova and now has a total of 1,500 employees.
