June 28 (SeeNews) - German glass and plastic packaging producer Gerresheimer will invest over 126 million euro ($133.4 million) in the construction of a factory for medical glass products and syringes in North Macedonia's capital Skopje, the government of North Macedonia said on Tuesday.
The company plans to start the construction of the facility in the third quarter of 2022, with a view to launching operations in 2024, North Macedonia's government said in a press release.
The new plant is expected to create more than 180 jobs.
In April 2021, Gerresheimer opened a plant for plastic systems for the pharma industry in Skopje. The company has invested more than 60 million euro in the factory so far, the government in Skopje said.
Gerresheimer is a leading global partner to the pharma and healthcare industries. The company has production facilities in North and South America as well as in Europe and Asia, generating revenues of approximately 1.4 billion euro.
