October 28 (SeeNews) - A consortium of Germany's WPD Windmanager and Montenegrin company Vjetroelektrana Budva is the sole bidder in a tender for the construction of a wind farm of at least 70 MW in Montenegro's Brajici locality, local media reported on Monday.
The consortium has proposed to invest about 100 million euro ($111 million) in the construction of a wind farm of 100.8 MW, news portal Cafe del Montenegro (CdM) reported.
A total of five companies have bought documents for participation in the tender launched by Montenegro's economy ministry in August, CdM said.
The deadline for the submission of bids expired on October 11.
The winner in the tender will be awarded a 30-year concession of a 13.8 million square metre plot of land in Brajici to build and operate the wind farm for an annual fee of at least 0.05 euro per square metre.
Montenegro's government has contracted Vjetroelektrana Budva, 80% owned by WPD, to execute the research and measurements of the wind potential of the site.
