December 15 (SeeNews) - Real estate developer Zacaria Group on Friday it has signed one of its largest rental contracts this year for an industrial space in Sibiu, in central Romania, to German engineering company Kuka Systems.
The first hall of 10,700 sq m, comprising of over 8,700 sq m of industrial space and 2,000 sq m of office space, will be delivered to Kuka Systems in July 2018, Zacaria said in a press release.

"This relocation of Kuka Systems premises is a sign that the industry in Sibiu has a healthy growth pace and is becoming more and more competitive," Zacaria's national sales manager Emilia Tepes said.
The German investor is considering an expansion in the same location, at Sibiu's Network Industrial Park, comprising of 10,000 square meters of industrial space, to be delivered in 2019, thus reaching a total area of 20,000 square meters.

The company started in 2011 with only four employees, but gradually the number increased to 280, employees that are now working in Sibiu and all over the world. The excellent geographic position in Romania and Europe, the proximity to the airport and the country's potential make from this Kuka subsidiary a location that will continue to develop well in the future," Kuka Systems CFO Torsten Joerge said,
Kuka Systems is part of the Kuka Systems Group, a provider of engineering services and manufacturers of flexible automatic production systems. Kuka Systems was established in Sibiu six years ago and employs 280.
Zacaria Group was founded 11 years ago in Sibiu by Maltese investment group Alf Mizzi & Sons. In Romania, the group has real estate investments in Sibiu, Craiova, Alba Iulia, Oradea, Arad and Cisnadie.
In November, Zacaria announced the expansion of its Western Industrial Park in Oradea, in western Romania. Construction works have begun this autumn and are expected to end in March. Following completion of the expansion project, Western Industrial Park will offer 25,000 sq m of industrial warehouses and office spaces.
In October, Zacaria Group said that it was moving ahead with construction works on its industrial park in Craiova, in southern Romania. Zacaria expects to deliver the first 10,000 sq m of the park by the end of the year.
In 2016, Zacaria invested 20 million euro ($23.8 million) in its first residential project in Bucharest with 207 apartments and 72 villas.
