October 20 (SeeNews) - German cable and wire manufacturer Kromberg & Schubert plans to invest 25.8 million euro ($25.2 million) to expand its production capacities in North Macedonia, the government said.
Kromberg & Schubert will create 1,230 jobs over the next three years, the government said in a statement on Wednesday.
The company’s plant in Bitola, in the south of the country, currently employs more than 5,300.
The company entered North Macedonia in 2013, when it opened a plant in Bitola. In 2016, it expanded the plant to 43,000 sq m from 18,000 sq m, according to local media reports.
Kromberg & Schubert produces complex wiring systems for the automotive industry. Its clients include Mini Cooper, BMW, Mercedes, and Audi, among others.
Kromberg & Schubert has more than 50,000 employees in over 40 locations worldwide, according to information on the company’s website.
