SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), January 10 (SeeNews) – German company Kalkwerke H.Oetelshofen GmbH & Co. KG and Bosnia's Geoinzenjering plan to build a lime factory in the Kladanj municipality, the government of Bosnia's Tuzla Canton said on Wednesday.
The construction of the plant is planned to be completed within three years of the conclusion of a long-term concession deal for operating the limestone quarry in Kakanj, the Tuzla Canton said in a statement following a meeting between representatives of the two companies and local government officials.
Tuzla-based Geoinzenjering is currently engaged in mining activities at its facilities in Kakanj.
Steps to modernise the quarry will be taken in the first stage of the planned investment, including the purchase of new machines and equipment. The process will require new hiring as production levels rise and product range expands.
By end 2018, the construction of the lime factory is expected to begin, the Tuzla Canton said.
Kalkwerke H.Oetelshofen GmbH & Co. KG has been operating for 114 years and produces stone aggregates, stone flour and lime.
Kakanj is an industrial town and a municipality in central Bosnia and Herzegovina.
