January 26 (SeeNews) - Serbia's IGB Automotive Comp, a unit of German maker of automotive seat heating systems IG Bauerhin, will launch construction of a new 4.5 million euro ($4.9 million) manufacturing plant in the municipality of Indjija in April, with the end of works planned for September 2017, the municipal government said.
The company signed a land purchase agreement with the municipal authorities on Monday for a three hectare plot of land next to its existing facilities, the local government of Indjija said in a statement following the signing ceremony.

IGB Automotive Comp's new manufacturing facility, covering 7,000 sq m, will produce car seat heaters, steering wheel heaters and occupancy sensors, and is set to employ 500 workers.
IGB Automotive Comp currently employs more than 1,500 workers and manufactures over 16 million products annually. The company has been operating in Serbia since 2007.
