BUCHAREST (Romania), October 13 (SeeNews) – German solution provider for the food and energy sectors GEA has won orders worth 40 million euro ($59 million) to supply equipment for two power plants in Romania and Russia, the company said on Tuesday.
"In Romania, GEA will deliver a new high concentration ash slurry system for Turceni coal fired power plant. The ash slurry system is part of an initiative to extend the plant's service life as well achieve its environmental compliance," GEA said in a statement.
This is the sixth order in a row for high concentration ash slurry systems in Romania received by GEA, it added.
The Turceni power plant is one of Romania's largest electricity producers, with 7 identical groups of 330 MW each, totalling an installed capacity of 2,310 MW. The power plant, located in the Gorj county in southwestern Romania, had a market share of 12.5% in 2008, according to data from the company's website.
GEA reported more than 5.2 billion euro in revenue for 2008. It had 20,000 employees, serving customers in 50 countries at the end of June this year.
