November 5 (SeeNews) - German manufacturer of household appliance components emz-Hanauer plans to invest 5 million euro ($5.77 million) in the construction of a production plant in Resita, western Romania, the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, AHK Romania, said on Friday.
Production at the factory is expected to start in the fall of 2022, AHK Romania said in a press release.
The 3,000 sq m plant will be built in Resita industrial park and will initially have 50 to 100 employees.
A Romanian subsidiary has already been founded and registered, emz - Hanauer said in a separate press release last week. The planned factory in Resita, near Timisoara, will be the company's third manufacturing site in the EU after the sites in Germany and the Czech Republic.
"The Romanian labour market is large enough to provide the necessary employees for years to come. The new subsidiary is expected to employ up to 500 people in the final expansion stage and will focus on production for the European market," the company said.
emz-Hanauer GmbH & Co. KGaA is a family-owned company based in Nabburg that develops and produces components and systems for dishwashers, washing machines, dryers and refrigerators. With production sites in Europe, Mexico and China, the company employs over 1,200 worldwide, according to its website.
