"Development of electronic solutions for vehicles, smartphone access technology, automated driving or telematics for commercial vehicles are just some of the examples of innovative projects that we will work on in Novi Sad. We are looking for experienced engineers, young graduates and IT students," the director of Continental's Serbian unit, Sasha Cioringa, said.
Last year, the Serbian government said Continental plans to invest more than 1 million euro ($1.2 million) in the project and to hire 100 engineers at the initial stage of the development of the R&D centre, with a further 400 to be hired in the next two years.
In March, Continental launched a second plant in Serbia's northern town of Subotica, which employs over 500 workers. Continental invested 14.5 million euro in the new factory, while the government provided 3 million euro in subsidies.
