PRISTINA (Kosovo), November 21 (SeeNews) – Kosovo’s finance ministry said on Wednesday it signed a grant agreement under which Germany is pledging to provide 60.05 million euro ($68.6 million) to support projects in Kosovo in the next two years.
“The support will be provided to projects in three different sectors: sustainable economic development; democracy, civil society and public administration; and energy,” the finance ministry said in a statement after the signing ceremony.
Germany is one of the main partners supporting Kosovo's aspirations for economic development and integration into the European Union, Kosovo's finance minister Bedri Hamza said.
Kosovo needs further progress, especially in the reforms relating to the rule of law, as well as the energy sector with focus on renewable energy and energy efficiency, the head of the delegation from the German economic development ministry, Dirk Schattschneider, noted.
