August 26 (SeeNews) - Germany's economy ministry has said it plans to establish a partnership with the Serbian President's Office to support sustainable investments in strengthening the development of Serbia's industrial policy strategy in line with the European Green Deal.
The partnership will also include strengthening supply chains and further connecting Serbia to the EU market, the German economy ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
"The administrative partnership agreed today is another important step in the Berlin process. Together we are working on sustainable structures for our economic cooperation, because these are more important than ever, especially during the Corona crisis," Germany's minister for economic affairs and energy, Peter Altmaier, said in the statement.
Cooperation with Serbia is an important instrument alongside other initiatives of the economy ministry for the Western Balkans as part of the Berlin Process, including similar administrative partnerships with Kosovo, Montenegro and North Macedonia, the economy ministry said.
Administrative partnerships of the German economy ministry are aimed at improving the general conditions for the economy through modernisation of the administration sector. For this purpose, German civil servants are sent to partner authorities for consulting assignments.
