October 27 (SeeNews) - German-based tourism group TUI plans to launch multiple charter flights from European countries to Montenegro, aiming to increase the number of tourists it services in the country, the Montenegrin government said on Friday.
TUI intends to launch charter flights for tourists from the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Russia, Poland and the Scandinavian countries, the executive board member of the tourism group, David Burling, said, as quoted in a statement by the government.
The German company has also enquired on the potential construction of an airport in Ulcinj, the government said after a meeting of Montenegrin prime minister Dusko Markovic with Burling and representatives of hotel operator Karisma Hotels & Resorts.
In September, Montenegro's government said it gave the green light to a 30-year concession of the right to operate assets of hotel operator Ulcinjska Rivijera [MNG:ULRI] to Karisma Hotels Adriatic (KHA), a unit of Karisma Hotels & Resorts.
