October 25 (SeeNews) - Quantum Strategic Partners, a fund run by billionaire George Soros, is interested in buying Slovenia's ailing retailer Tus and is said to be in exclusive talks with its creditors, local media reported.
The banks, in control of over half of all claims held in Tus, have granted Quantum Strategic Partners permission to perform a due diligence of the retailer, news portal Siol.net reported on Tuesday.

A consortium of banks led by state-owned NLB initiated the sale of 300 million euro ($352.8 million) in claims held against Tus last autumn.
Among the 15 non-binding bids the banks received, English private equity fund AnaCap Financial Partners made the only serious proposal for the retailer, but its offer of 90 million euro was deemed to low, Siol.net said.
Quantum Strategic Partners is a private investment vehicle that focuses globally on long-term investments in several strategies, including capital-intensive start-ups, project development and growth equity transactions.
