January 6 (SeeNews) - Gazprom Export, the export arm of Russian energy giant Gazprom, signed a four-year contract for the delivery of natural gas with Turkey's state-owned oil and natural gas company Petroleum Pipeline Company (BOTAS), Ankara-based media reported on Thursday.
Gazprom Export will send 5.75 billion cu m of natural gas per year to BOTAS via the TurkStream pipeline as of January 1, Anadolu Agency said.
The price of the deal was not disclosed in the report.
Various agreements were signed between Gazprom Export and BOTAS for natural gas shipments on December 30, Anadolu Agency also said.
TurkStream is an export gas pipeline stretching from Russia to Turkey across the Black Sea. Its design capacity is 31.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year. One leg of TurkStream is intended to deliver gas to consumers in Turkey, while a second one is planned to supply gas to southern and southeastern Europe through Turkish territory.
