July 17 (SeeNews) - French financial institution Proparco, owned by the French Development Agency and private shareholders, has expressed interest in financing renewable energy projects in Serbia, energy minister Aleksandar Antic said.
Proparco is interested in supporting Serbia in increasing the share of renewables in its energy mix, Antic said on Tuesday, as quoted in a statement by the Serbian energy ministry. Antic held a meeting with representatives of Proparco in Belgrade within the framework of a visit by French President Emmanuel Macron to Serbia.

In December, Proparco was among the lead arrangers of a 182 million euro ($204 million) package to France’s Vinci Airports to finance the upgrading, expansion, operation and maintenance of Belgrade Nikola Tesla airport.
As of 2018, Proparco had a share capital of 693 million euro.
