November 18 (SeeNews) - French utility GDF Suez intends to invest 7.0 billion-8.0 billion euro ($9.5 billion-10.8 billion) in Turkey's energy sector, Turkey's energy minister Taner Yildiz told the country's state-owned TV channel TRT on Monday.
Yildiz told TRT that he will meet with GDF Suez officials during the International Energy Agency biennial ministerial meeting, to be held between November 19 and 21 in Paris and chaired by Turkey.
GDF Suez is part of the consortium selected to build Turkey's second nuclear power plant in the northern provinece of Sinop, alongside Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Itochu Corp, and the Turkish Electricity Generation Company.
