April 3 (SeeNews) - A Cessna plane crashed on Tuesday in North Macedonia with all four Bulgarian nationals on board presumed dead, Bulgarian media reported.
The light aircraft was flying from the city of Ohrid in North Macedonia to the Bulgarian capital Sofia when it disappeared from radar, Bulgarian public radio BNR reported late on Tuesday.
The Civil Aviation Agency of North Macedonia has announced that because of the bad weather conditions the pilot has initially asked to land in Skopje but later decided to continue to Sofia, BNR said.
The wreckage of the plane was located at an altitude of 2,300 m above the sea level at an unapproachable snow-covered terrain, BNR quoted Bulgarian interior minister Mladen Marinov as saying.
Meanwhile, at the start of the Bulgarian government's weekly meeting on Wednesday, prime minister Boyko Borissov expressed his condolences and said that he is keeping contact with his North Macedonian counterpart Zoran Zaev, and that the Skopje authorities are confident they will reach the wreckage, according to a video file, published on Borissov's official YouTube channel.
"Hopefully they will reach [the wreckage] sooner, so we can see what caused the crash," Borissov said.
