TIRANA (Albania), July 23 (SeeNews) – The total number of foreign nationals who visited Albania in the first half of 2018 increased by 9.1% year-on-year to 1.92 million, the country's statistical office, INSTAT, said on Monday.
The number of foreign nationals who visited Albania for the purpose of recreation edged up 0.7% on the year to 566,068 in the period under review, INSTAT said.
The largest numbers of international visitors came from Kosovo, Macedonia, Greece, Montenegro and Italy, while visitors from Poland registered the sharpest year-on-year growth, of 26.4%, in the January-June period.
In the month of June alone, Albania was visited by 919,472 foreign nationals, up 11.7% year-on-year. Of the total, 249,438 came for recreational purposes, up 27.9% compared to June 2017.
