Foreign visitors to Albania increase 8.3% y/y in Jan-Oct Skanderbeg square, Tirana, Albania

TIRANA (Albania), December 4 (SeeNews) – The number of foreign nationals who visited Albania in the ten months through October rose 8.3% year-on-year to 5.85 million, the country's statistical office said.

Foreign nationals who visited Albania for the purpose of recreation in the January-October period totalled 5.6 million, up by 8.2% year-on-year, INSTAT said in a statement late on Tuesday.

The largest number of international visitors came from Kosovo, North Macedonia, Greece and Italy. Visitors from Switzerland posted the sharpest annual increase, by 19.9%, in the ten-month period under review.

In October alone, Albania was visited by 387,152 foreign nationals, up 14.7% year-on-year. Out of the total, 360,790 came for recreational purposes.

In 2018, the number of foreign visitors to Albania increased by 16% to 5.9 million.
