TIRANA (Albania), December 27 (SeeNews) – The number of foreign nationals who visited Albania in the eleven months through November rose 8.3% year-on-year to 6.12 million, the country's statistical office said.
Foreign nationals who visited Albania for the purpose of recreation in the January-November period totalled 5.8 million, up by 8.3% year-on-year, INSTAT said in a statement on Thursday.
The largest number of foreign visitors came from Kosovo, North Macedonia, Greece and Italy. Visitors from Switzerland posted the sharpest annual increase, by 19.7%, in the period under review.
In November alone, Albania was visited by 268,176 foreign nationals, up 8.7% year-on-year. Out of the total, 250,367 came for recreational purposes.
In 2018, the number of foreign visitors to Albania increased by 16% to 5.9 million.
