TIRANA (Albania), February 25 (SeeNews) – Foreign nationals who visited Albania in the first month of 2020 numbered 249,461, up by 19% year-on-year, the country's statistical office, INSTAT, said.
The number of foreign nationals who visited Albania for the purpose of recreation in January too rose by 19% to 231,471, INSTAT said in a statement on Monday.
The largest number of foreign visitors in January came from Kosovo, Greece, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Italy. Visitors from Poland registered the sharpest year-on-year increase, of 38.9% in January, followed by the UK and Montenegro with 26.5% increase each.
In 2019, total number of foreign visitors increased by 8.1% year-on-year to 6.41 million.
