TIRANA (Albania), August 23 (SeeNews) – The total number of foreign nationals who visited Albania in the first seven months of 2018 increased by 12.4% year-on-year to 2.95 million, the country's statistical office, INSTAT, said on Thursday.
The number of foreign nationals who visited Albania for the purpose of recreation increased by 12.8% on the year to 1.18 million in the period under review, INSTAT said.
The largest numbers of international visitors came from Kosovo, Macedonia, Greece, Montenegro and Italy, while visitors from Poland registered the sharpest year-on-year growth, of 33.0%, in the January-July period.
In the month of July alone, Albania was visited by 1.03 million foreign nationals, up 19.0% year-on-year. Of the total, 616,954 came for recreational purposes, up 26.6% compared to July 2017.
